Kingsway Church – Statement of Faith
Scripture – We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, and as such is the final authority on matters of faith and morality.
God – We believe that God is the eternal, infinite, sovereign, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, spirit who created the world, and is reveled in the Holy Bible. There is one God, eternally existent in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ – We believe that Jesus is the eternal preexisting Son of God (the second person of the Godhead in boldly form), who is fully man and fully God. He was born of the virgin Mary (incarnate), lived a perfect sinless life, died as a substitute for mans sin on the Cross, resurrected from the dead after three days, ascended to the right Hand of God the Father, and will return literally and physically to the earth.
The Holy Spirit – We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead, and is co-equal, and co-eternal with God the Father and God the Son. He is actively engaged in ministry upon the earth through the church. His ministry included salvation of believers, and the empowering of the saints.
Man – We believe that man was created by God innocent and in the image of God. Man voluntarily fell into sin, an act which resulted in separation from God, as well as spiritual and physical death. All men since Adam are born into sin.
Salvation – We believe that man’s only means of salvation from sin is through the substitutions atoning work of Christ on the Cross. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
Ordinances of the Church – We practice two the ordinances which Christ gave his church: Water Baptism and The Lords Supper.
- Water Baptism is an act of obedience to Christ that should be entered into by every believer. Water baptism is a public declaration of an inner work which is symbolic and non efficacious. We do not baptize infants nor small children, since baptism should be entered into by those who can understand the meaning and significance of water baptism.
- The Lords Supper is a memorial in which the church commemorates the suffering and death of Christ. The Communion consists of the bread and the fruit of the vine.
